Poetry is what poets make but, Concrete Poetry is poetry in the form of an image. These images are in the same tradition of the Calligrammes of Appollinaire, the mouses's tail of Alice in Wonderland, the permutational poems of the cabalists, the anagrams of early Christian monks, the carmina figurata of the Greek bucolic poets, or the pattern poems of the Babylonians. This is not just a poem; these three stanzas are pictures in writing. The format is not mine; the format comes directly from the renowned artist Barbara Kruger who is at the core of every word and to whom I offer these pictures as my modest homage to her work.
